7 Testimonies of What Heaven is Like

Whether you believe it or not, heaven is real.  Here are 7 testimonies of a saint, a seer, a mystic, and people who’ve experienced the glory that awaits us if we choose not to be too comfortable in this present life and aim for eternity:  (Goes without saying, I recommend all these books for further reading.)

1.         “November 27, 1936. Today I was in heaven, in spirit, and I saw its unconceivable beauties and the happiness that awaits us after death. I saw how all creatures give ceaseless praise and glory to God. I saw how great is happiness in God, which spreads to all creatures, making them happy; and then all the glory and praise which springs from this happiness returns to its source; and they enter into the depths of God, contemplating the inner life of God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, whom they will never comprehend or fathom. This source of happiness is unchanging in its essence, but it is always new, gushing forth happiness for all creatures. Now I understand Saint Paul, who said, “Eye has not seen, nor has ear heard, not has it entered into the heart of man what God has prepared for those who love him.” And God has given me to understand that there is but one thing that is of infinite value in His eyes, and that is love of God; love, love and once again, love; and nothing can compare with a single act of pure love of God.” –St. Faustina Kowalska, "Diary of St. Faustina"

2.         “Jacov and I were taken [to heaven] by the Blessed Mother…Heaven is a vast space, and it has a brilliant light which does not leave it,  It is a life which we do not know here on earth.  We saw people dressed in gray, pink and yellow robes.  They were walking, praying and singing.  Small angels were flying above them.  The Blessed Mother showed us how happy these people are… You can see it on their faces…But it is impossible to describe with words the great happiness I saw in heaven.”  --Vicka Ivancovic, Medjugorje seer, "Queen of the Cosmos" by Jan Connell available at
"The trees, meadows and sky are totally different from anything we know on earth.  And the light is much more brilliant...[people] were around thirty years of age...dressed in the same types of clothing that Jesus wore...walking in a beautiful park.  They have everything.  They need or want nothing.  They are totally fulfilled."  --Mirjana Dragicevic, Medjugorje seer, "Queen of the Cosmos" by Jan Connell.

3.         “The [gates of heaven] were made of gold and there were pearls on them.  The heavenly city itself was made of something shiny, ‘like gold or silver.’  The flowers and trees in heaven were ‘beautiful’ and there were animals of every kind…Nobody’s old in heaven…[God’s throne] was really, really big because God is the biggest one there is.  And he really, really loves us…you can’t belieeeve how much he loves us!...Jesus is pure.  He’s very masculine, really strong and big.  And his eyes are just beautiful!” –Colton Burpo (near death witness), “Heaven is for Real” available wherever books are sold.

4.         “I saw trees.  We were above an area of beautiful trees…I saw a stream cut into the ground. It was the most beautiful, clear water, moving steadily over rocks and moving downhill in a gradual way….The sound of water was beautiful, like music.  There was so much to it that it was like a symphony because there were so many aspects of a sound…
“Jesus brings me across the street or road and we enter another Church.  This is a building dedicated to Saint John of the Cross.  There are souls looking at various elements of his life and teaching,  They are learning about concepts that they were not familiar with from their lives on earth.  Jesus talks about learning and how it continues in heaven.  These souls do not look bored.  As in the last building, they have faces filled with wonder and awe.  There are groups together, with one soul indicating various elements to others.  There are souls on their own, gazing in silence at those displays that are not available to me.  This John must be something.  But Jesus indicates to me that in each life there are moments of great value and dedication or triumph over self.  These moments are preserved…

This area, while not crowded, is a lot busier than the city across the blue/black universe.  There are the same flowers and trees and again, the beautiful sounds.  Outside there is lovely light and the sound of breezes.  Inside this building where souls are studying Saint John’s spiritual triumphs, there is a delicate chime sounding.  It is not one note but a lovely quiet melody made up of the most exquisite notes. It provides a background of serenity and adds to the wonder.  You could really come here just to listen to the music.  I am made aware that this city is made up of countless buildings like this.  Jesus talks to me at length about learning and how it continues in heaven, giving great joy to souls.”  --Anne, a lay apostle, “Climbing the Mountain.”  Her mystical writings and experiences are published with permission from (her) Bishop O'Reilly and available at

5.         “As we walked on through this section of Heaven, which was really like a small town, I saw street signs…we walked up what looked like an unpaved dirt path.  Being a small boy, I did what small boys everywhere enjoy doing—I tried to kick up the dirt and make little dust clouds as I walked along.  But the path stayed where it belonged! (Whenever I tell this part, the women in the congregation always applaud—they won’t have to dust their furniture in heaven!) As we continued up the path, I saw a gigantic house above the trees…I know it was a mansion… While in heaven, I saw different kinds of mansions or homes.  They all are not the same size, but each seems to fit the desires of the ones who live in them; each one has some of the features that the person who dwells there likes.  It is as if there are touches both of Heaven and of earth in them…Each mansion was suited the person who lived there, for every child of God has his or her own mansion in Heaven, according to John 14:2” –Roberts Liardon (near death witness) “We Saw Heaven” available at

6.         The amazing tilma containing the miraculous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe not only captures the image of the people who were looking at Juan Diego’s tilma in history and the constellation of the stars at the time of her apparition, but it also holds musical notes of a heavenly composition.  This is the symphony found in the stars when they are arranged in a musical scale:

7.         “Again the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls.  When he found one of great value, he sold everything he had and bought it.”  Jesus, Matthew  13:45-46
